Who can post on Knowledgic.com?

Anyone. Just create an account here, and you are good to go.

How do I sign up for an account?

Go to the Home page and click on the 'Sign Up' button. Fill in the required details in the form and click the 'Sign Up' button. A verification email will be sent to you. Check your email and click on the 'Activate' tab and your account will become activated instantly.
Users have to create an account to ask and answer questions.

How soon can I start posting after signing up?

You can start posting questions, comments and answers immediately after signing up.

After making a post, how soon can I make another?

Ther is no time interval restriction between posts on our service.

How many questions can I ask in a day?

While we are generous about the number of posts that users can make on our service, we recommend that users should keep it to a maximum of two (2) in a day.

If my question is not answered, what should I do?

Hopefully, you did ask a qualitative question. It is recommended that you edit your question and include a few more details and context. That might attract some users to provide an answer to it.

How do I increase the chances of my questions getting answered?

To increase the chances of your questions getting answered, here are some tips:

• Check to make sure that another user has not asked the same question.
• Make your question concise and straight to the point.
• Your questions should be reasonable and practical. Avoid hypothetical questions.
• Proofread your question. It is essential to read your question over again and make corrections to possible spelling errors and other aspects.

Note: Questions that do not get an answer within 30 days will automatically be deleted.

What constitutes a good answer?

• A good answer should aim to provide a solution to the issues raised in the question.
• It should be precise and not assuming.
• It should be relevant over time.
• Spellings and grammar should be as accurate as possible. To achieve this, proofread and spellcheck your answer for spellings and proper grammatical functions.

Why did my question get flagged or removed from the service?

It may have contained materials that violate our terms of use or community guidelines.
Another reason could be that a user answered their own question. It is advisable not to try to answer your questions; otherwise, there would be no need to ask in the first place.
Also, try not to cram too many subjects into one question.

How do I include an image or video in my post?

Depending on whether you are asking or answering a question, click on the 'Ask a question' or 'Answer' tabs. You will then be taken to a page where you can ask or answer questions. Follow the prompts such as 'Featured Image and 'Add Media' to add images and videos to your post.

How do I edit or delete my post?

Questions can only be edited. To do this, click on the 'Edit' tab below your question and follow the prompts. Deleting a question after it has been answered will be unfair to the users who provided the answers.
Our Editors, however, reserve the right to delete any post at any time and for any reason, as stated in our terms of service.

Can a deleted post still be found somewhere?

When a post is deleted, users can no longer view it even though it still remains in our database.

Are all posts edited?

Not all posts are edited. However, a good number of posts do get edited.
Suspicious posts get edited to ensure conformity with our terms.

How do I post a question anonymously?

Click on the 'Ask A Question' tab and you will be redirected to your questions page. At the bottom of the page, check the box tagged ' Ask Anonymously.' Your question will be displayed as anonymous. Users are advised to only use the anonymous feature prudently to a maximum of two times in a year.
We would be able to determine who made an anonymous post if and when needed. The anonymous function does not shield a user whose intention is to engage in illegal activities.

Do anonymous posts display immediately?

They are usually displayed immediately. However, in some cases, there might be a delay of up to 48 hours before a post displays on our service. If, after 24 hours, your anonymous post is still not displayed, contact us directly.

What should I do if I find an inappropriate post?

Contact us to report such a post. This is a community of responsible users, and we do have a set of terms and guidelines governing this community. Any content that violates these terms should be reported.

How do I search for topics?

Type related words in the search bar and click on the magnifying glass icon, and there will be several topics with the word(s) you searched. You should find the topic you searched for or a similar topic among the results.
You can also search by using tags.

Can I rely on tags for my searches?

While tags are useful for carrying out searches, it must be noted that tags are not automated. They are done by users. The reliability of tags is only subject to the accuracy of such users doing them.

How are the best answers awarded?

Users can award an answer as the best among all the answers provided by other users. There is a green tab marked 'best answer' on the profile page to the right of every answer. When clicked, it sticks to the answer it was awarded to.

How is a question marked 'Answered'?

When a user selects the best answer, the question appears as having been answered.

My post is not visible on your service. Why?

Check to make sure you are in the right category.
Contact us directly, and we will resolve the issue provided your post
was not in violation of our terms of usage.

Where can I find the community guidelines?

There is a page dedicated to the community guidelines on this service. Find the link, click on it and you will be taken to the page.

What was my account suspended?

A user's account could be suspended if the terms of use or community guidelines were violated.
If your account has been suspended, contact us, and we will provide you with more information and steps to take to lift the suspension.

What is the function of the 'Report' button?

This button appears on all posts as long as you are logged in.
When you click on it, a compose box pops up, and you are able to anonymously notify our Administrators about any content that violates our terms or community guidelines.

What happens after I report a post?

The post will be reviewed, and if found inappropriate, that account will be suspended temporarily or closed permanently. You will receive a message explaining the reason for the action.

What if my account was suspended unjustly?

If you feel your account was wrongly suspended, you have a chance to appeal that decision. Contact us, and we will review the situation with a view to resolving it.

Can I send a private message to another user?

Yes. On your profile page, you can send a private message to another member. Just click on the user's profile, and there will be a tab giving you the option to as ask a private question of that user.

Why do I need to vote on a post?

Voting is a means of encouraging qualitative answers to questions asked.

It is a tool that helps bump good answers to the top and push low-quality answers down to the bottom. Voting is instrumental in boosting the reputation and increasing the privileges of users who post quality content. An up or a downvote is an indication of how interesting/useful or otherwise a topic is.

Users with the most votes end up becoming Moderators, Editors, and Closers on our service.

What are points/badges for?

As a means of rewarding users' participation, there is a point system at every stage.

The point system is an indication of the level of each user on our service. It bestows certain privileges on users. The more the points, the more the privileges.
